【WORKSHOP】Counter Monuments – Samuel Seger
Description
The workshop aims to build alternative conversations between public monuments and individuals.
Participants are invited to conceive a sculpture in juxtaposition to an existing monument, in order to address it with a question, confront or attack it, or to more subtly change the viewer’s perception of it.
Each participant is required to bring printed images of the monument they are interested in and wish to talk about as the subject of their creations. During the workshop, they will develop their ideas through the process and method of model making, lectures, and discussions. We will discuss the resulting models and their individual concepts and perspectives, and finally, present them in an exhibition setting.

About Samuel Seger
Samuel Seger is a German artist with whom DAC cooperates in 2022. His often large-scale sculptures address the conditions of production, as well as the hereby implicated questions of authorship and power relations. His works are driven by an underlying concern about the representation of class and labor.
